Prudence

Prudence

Okay, so here it is…The vlog I’ve been postponing for ten days. Please, don’t even watch it. I was compelled to post it by a Beatles song from 40-years ago. Yeah, I know. It makes no sense. To me, either. I am just trying to follow a “sign.”

thanks, Raz…that was great! no reason to say “don”t even watch it!”
God ( Source, Allah, Great Spirit……) speaks to us in whatever way it takes to get our attention sometime! that was a great message and fun to hear the story about the Beatles’ song……I googled the lyrics and heard the invitation to listen to the greater message around us:) Have a great day

    Thanks Barbara, too kind! :)

I was just thinking halfway through the video….this is a great example of someone who I would consider successful and probably doing well financially NOT buying a really high end, expensive vehicle. I’ve heard Brian Tracy and Dave Ramsey talk about how people who are financial successful usually buy things like cars with cash and they never buy it brand new. It didn’t sound like the car was brand new, but the point still applies.

So wild that the song came on the radio.

Thanks for the vlog. Oh and if you ever want to learn that song I learned it for a student once and still have the music :)

  4. Raz says:

Hey Joey, thanks for the comment. Tracey and Ramsey are great. I would LOVE to learn that song. Let me get to my bodyfat goal then I’m ready to tackle the guitar again, totally miss playing and taking lessons. And would be a good song. By late Spring I’ll be back, I expect. :)

    Raz,

I thought the video was excellent, those signs are little miracles in our lives…for whatever reason.
I think you should name the Land Cruiser “Prudence”. Gracie’s big sister!
    Thanks for all you do!
    Cheers
    Rhonda

What doesn’t make sense is your timing! And…I almost didn’t read it. I love (yes love) my car and my wonderful and thoughtful husband wants to upgrade me. He’s already found the car and spoke with our bank who was just a little too eager to lend us more than what we were asking for. And, as I sat in my office this morning, I was thinking to myself how it would feel to make that payment each month. How soon would the new car high wear off? (Apparently it is about a month.) I enjoy the fact that we own our cars and they are great cars that we could have for many more years. And, honestly, I don’t want to see my car go unless I have to. Great vlog, crazy timing. M

  7. Raz says:

Hi Melissa, thanks for your comment! So funny re. the timing.

The new car high–and smell–is kinda intoxicating for a while. Sounds like you might be keeping your car for a while. :) So do you also name your cars? I’ll be curious to hear what you guys decide!

Raz you are weird sometimes but I think that’s why I like you. Oh, and signs are real. Maybe sometime I’ll have he opportunity to tell you about my signs….

  9. Raz says:

Rhona, so funny I also suggested “Prudence” as the name to Erica for the LC. But she’d already picked the name “Charm” (as in, 3rd time’s the charm). Thanks for your comment and nice words. :)

  10. Raz says:

Bruce, that got a good laugh from both me and Erica as we’re both online and I’m reviewing comments on the blog. Hey, like I said, I didn’t want to post this one. It was a bit weird…But, well, you know the story at this point…Such is life. I’d love to hear your stories, next event pull me aside and share a few!

  11. Yeah! I love this blog and had to read it especially after you said “don’t even watch it”…haha! I believe in signs too. They are all around us all the time if we can be still long enough to notice them. Yours was exceptional that day. So nice of you to share that.

  12. Raz says:

Thanks Ulli, LOL re. “Don’t even watch it!” The whole reverse psychology thing wasn’t intentional in this case!

  13. John Dunbar says:

Kurt Vonnegut wrote a sentence in Cat’s Cradle: “Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God”.

It’s a joy to see that you get that and respond accordingly.

    U rock!

  14. Raz says:

JD, never heard the quote before but I love it. Thanks my friend!

wow. Two in one night. Read this too, tonight, and realized why, after no real motive in reading it in the first place. Brennan, my 16 year old daughter and I headed out on another great fishing trip over Thanksgiving. What a thrill. To have your kid want to go with the old man on four day trip to fish in a river in the cold. How fun. Her turn to drive and she rolled the pickup just south of Buffalo WY. We both walked away, and were stranded without a car in a motel in Buffalo. Did not reach the river. Could not get home for three days. The greatest lesson in the world, for both of us. Did the same with the insurance money. Glad that a life lesson was passed through together, without fish, or the fun that we had planned. Different fun. Different deal. No car payment. (Miss the Toyota Tundra, though).

  16. Raz says:

V cool story that you guys took the adventure and your daughter was game to go, so glad you guys made it back safely. Great life lesson.

    Raz,
I love how level headed you are.
This was such a perfect blog…sometimes when God puts something on your heart, the lesson is for you…sometimes it’s for those around you.
    Thanks,
    MK
