Under the sea…
I love animals, I really do.
And I am all for animal rights advocacy.
And I don’t want to criticize any person or group that pursues such noble efforts–including this particular organization which does some very wonderful things.
But when I see stories like this, and I think about the time, money, and energy that was spent towards trying to save a single lobster–when we have humans that are suffering all over the planet, including in our native Country–that it leads me to really contemplate whether we have lost some of our priorities about the significance and importance of humankind and the things that matter most.
Big old lobster avoids date with NYC dinner plate
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine – A huge lobster that was destined to adorn a dinner plate is back in the ocean after a New York City restaurant granted him a reprieve.
The 20-pound crustacean, named George, was returned to the wild Saturday in a rocky cove in Kennebunkport, less than a mile from the summer home of former President George H.W. Bush.
George was transported to Maine by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which had beseeched City Crab and Seafood to allow the lobster to go free.
